Our Ancient Egyptian-inspired fashion favourites

The summer of 2013 is set to sizzle just a little more with the 50th anniversary re-release of the studio-bankrupting, wildly spectacular epic that is Cleopatra. Elizabeth Taylor sets the screen alight as the quixotic queen in the 1963 blockbuster, who seduced a string of powerful men and a generation of theatre audiences, and cast sartorial spells on the mind-set of the mid 20th Century. Starring opposite the screen goddess, Richard Burton plays Roman General Marc Antony, igniting a turbulent real-life love affair that endured for decades, engendered two marriages and a jewellery collection worth millions.

To celebrate the sumptuous picture's digitally re-mastered return to UK big screens on 12th July, we've brought together our Ancient Egyptian-inspired fashion favourites including a ring based on the historic queen's genuine design, and products to re-create that smoky thick-lined kohl eye which is synonymous both with Ancient Egypt and the Hollywood of the 1960s.
