The debut trailer and poster for Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master have been released. The film is about the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as 'The Master' (Phillip Seymour Hoffman), whose faith-based organisation starts to get popular in America and a young alcoholic drifter (Joaquin Phoenix) who becomes his right-hand man only to begin questioning his manipulative mentor. The film is set in the 1950s and inspired from Scientology.

The cast also includes Laura Dern, Amy Adams, Jesse Plemons, Lena Endre and David Warshofsky also star in the film.
